So the good news is I lost yet another pound this week!! YAHOO! Now I am down to 123, only have 5 pounds to go reach my goal!! I can't believe that I have even lost any weigh, because I still feel like I eat things that are bad for me. Damn those little 100 calorie chocolate cakes. They are so freaking good! I am about to go to the grocery store and am hoping to find some new exciting healthy, low calorie foods!!
The better news is that Kara rolled over for the first time earlier this week! I was so happy that I was clapping and yelling like a fool. I was just so worried about it with all the books I was reading saying she was due to be doing that already. I know, I know all children are different. I was just worried that she hadn't reached that milestone like she had all the other ones. She is usually advanced in most things. Now I know I will be wishing she couldn't roll over, cause she's going to be rolling all over the place.
The best news is that in a little over a week from now my husband should be home. I am so excited to see him. I know that things could still happen and delay this happy reunion but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really hope Kara remembers him. In my little fantasy world she will see him and smile. I hope to have my camera handy for that moment.

Good news and a birthday!

First let me start with telling my wonderful husband HAPPY BIRTHDAY. While it was his birthday here yesterday it's still his birthday in the states. Nick- I wish so badly that we could have been together on your birthday. I hate all the things we have missed together since you've been gone. I just hope and pray that you will be home soon. We miss you so much. When you get home we have so much to celebrate: our anniversary, Kara's milestone, and your birthday. I really hope we get to take advantage of that week you will be getting off of work to have some fun as a family. We love you!!
So now for the good news.... yesterday I sold our car!! I've had it up for sale for 3 weeks, which seemed like a long time, but it sold and for our asking price!!! I was so happy about that. I was willing to go lower on the price if we needed to but luckily it didn't come to that. I am about to go cancel the insurance on it and get some refund back from that too. I feel so happy to be able to put the money in our savings. Lord knows it's going to come in handy with our trip back to the states that we have planned for December! I can't wait! And to make yesterday an even better day... I lost a pound. I have been trying to do a whole new way of life thing with our food. I have changed all the pastas over to multi grain or wheat, brown rice. I have been doing my best to eat healthier and with lower fat content. While I don't believe I am fat, I feel that I need to lose a few pounds and be able to maintain that weight. Therefore I am doing this lifestyle change before Nick gets home so we can do it together. I had made it back to my prepregnacy weight of 125 probably two and half months after Kara was born. Before I got pregnant with Conner I was 120 and was pretty happy at that weight. After having him I never got back there. So now I am determined to make it to 120 and would really love to be 118. But even more important I want to look in the mirror and think I look firmer than I am. I know that's going to take working out, which I really hope to do when Nick gets home. I try to do little work outs here at home, but it's hard with a baby. I figure that I need to take the best care of my body that I can. That's why I am starting now before it's too late or too discouraging to do. I hope you all have a nice day. Oh and it you want to get some healthy recipes jump over to my MIL's (Kari http://grannyskywalker.blogspot.com) blog and check out her new post with a few to try. Have a great day!

So proud
For those of you who haven't read it on my mother in laws blog, I want to share our awesome news......Nick made Tech Sergeant!! We have been waiting to hear for weeks and are so excited. We were trying to decide weather staying in the Air Force was for us or not and I guess we now have our answer. It would be hard to get out with him have made more rank. He made it sooner than most people do in their careers. He's put on 5 stripes in 10 years, which I think is pretty impressive. I gave him a card that read Impressive on the front and said But not surprising. It was too perfect. I knew he would make it. He wasn't convinced until he read the results. He let out a noise, which scared me half to death (I was in another room). Kara and I got him a cake and new game to congratulate him. The extra money will be so great.
Nick, I am proud of you baby! I knew you could do it. Always remember that I believe in you. I love you so much!!!

I witnessed a crime.
So a few days ago Maddy and I were taking Tinkerbell to the vet. We were stopped at a red light and a girl was walking across the road. From the other side a woman went ahead and went and hit the girl walking. Luckily she was only going about 10 miles per hour so it didn't make the girl fall. But I know it had to of hurt her. This was off base might I add. It was two Japanese ladies involved. So she hit her on her left leg and side. The lady pulled over to make sure the girl was okay, and luckily she was. I was amazed to see that she actually hit her. Talk about not paying attention. So now while driving off base I am extra cautious. It is scary out there. Just thought I would share that craziness.
I remember 9/11

What a terrible day it was September 11th, 2001. I was getting ready for school, watching Good Morning America as I always did and to my amazement I saw the World Trade Center on fire from a plane. After sitting there watching it for a few minutes I saw a shadow and another plane hit the other building. I felt the tears flood my eyes. How could we be getting attacked now? It is very scary when you have no control and don't know where the next target may be. I was worried because we only lived about half an hour from Eglin Air Force Base, one of the biggest bases, I believe. So as the rest of America did, I watch the TV and listened to the radio all day in horror. The pictures of all the attacks terrified me, I felt so many emotions. I had to work that afternoon and we turned on the radio to listen to what was going on. We were under attack and didn't know where the next target was. It was so scary, overwhelming, and unforgettable. I worked at movie gallery at the time so when people came in to rent movies, to get away from the sadness on the TV, they would talk about it and cry. It was heartbreaking. I don't think America will ever be the same after that day. Sure some people may have forgotten, but for the most part I believe people remember. How could you forget, when we are still dealing with the problems from that day? So many people lost their lives and many still are. I believe most everyone knows someone in our armed forces, they are the people who are defending us. They are the ones that put their life on the line to help keep us safe and free from harm. It makes me mad when people get down on the military and do horrible things at their funerals. How dare they treat them and their families that way. Being in the military is so selfless. They are literally putting their country before themselves. They are saying, "I will defend my country until I no longer can." To me they are all heroes. May I add that I include policemen and women and firefighters in that too. They too are out there everyday saving lives, putting others before themselves. They are our heroes. No one can tell me different. And if you feel offended because you are one of those people who are aren't behind our military then you need to go read somewhere else because you aren't welcome at my blog. Go watch World Trade Center or listen to God bless the USA and tell me that you don't feel somewhat emotional. Go ahead do it, I dare you!!

Too close for comfort
TOKYO — A China Airlines jet exploded into flames at an airport in Okinawa after arriving from Taiwan on Monday, but all 165 people aboard escaped alive, officials said. Police said terrorism was not suspected.
This really freaked me out. Just two weeks ago this is the plane that Maddy and I flew into Okinawa. I remember the flower on the side because Maddy thought it was cool we were riding the plane with a pretty flower, but would have much rather went on the one with Hello Kitty. I know kids love that Hello Kitty. But really, thank God that this didn't happen to us. Luckily everyone made it out, but can you imagine how traumatizing this would have been? Especially for Maddy. Wow that is really scary. Yeah so I know I have really ruined any chance of my mother in law coming over here now. That was not my intention. Maybe I shouldn't post this. There are still cruises, REMEMBER!! Well, this is just to crazy I have to share it. I am sorry Sissy for scaring you with this, I am posting it so we can all be thankful that it wasn't us. Thank you God! I feel like dropping to my knees with praise. Whew is all I have to say. My heart is still pounding. Maybe luck is on my side after all.
